Be still my heart, this intimate, seaside yacht wedding has so much to melt our hearts over.

At first glance, thanks to the beach ruins, we assumed this wedding was off the coast somewhere in Bretagne, France – the cool tones, old world vibes, incredibly chic fashions seem fit for a Parisian couple, no?

In fact, no! It just so happens Kelsie, travel and style blogger of A Little Shimmer, just happens to be extremely fashionable (go figure). And the location? Newport Beach, Southern California! The Utahn couple managed to find the dreamiest spots for their portraits in Orange County then hopped on a yacht with their intimate crew for a luxurious seaborne reception.

But it’s not just the dreamy location and lavish fashions that have our eyes misty, it’s the choices behind all of it. Bride Kelsie shared so many special memories with her late brother in Southern California, they chose their wedding destination to honor him and those times they spent together.

Yes, time to get the hanky, enjoy these beautiful photos.

The Destination

Kelsie, travel and style blogger with A Little Bit of Shimmer, and her new husband live in Utah. As they started the process of planning their wedding, they knew wanted a lavish, yet quiet destination wedding with their closest family and friends.

As they discussed potential locations, they decided upon Newport Beach, CA, for a very special reason. The bride’s little brother had passed away a year before, and some of her most cherished memories with him were from family vacations to Southern California. They both knew it would be very meaningful to celebrate their love at a location where her little brother had been.

Knowing that a destination wedding can sometimes be stressful to plan, the Bride and her family decided to handle many of the details on their own.

The Ceremony

When the big day arrived, the couple enjoyed a private ceremony in the Newport Beach LDS Temple with their loved ones.

Kelsie wore a lavish custom designed ensemble – a lace top with bateau neckline and ¾ length sleeves, and a satin jersey skirt complete with a 5-foot train. Juan looked dapper in his cobalt blue suit and bow tie from Express Men.

The florals were arranged by the bride’s family with flowers hand-selected by the bride from the LA floral market.

The Reception Style

After the ceremony, the bride changed dresses, and the couple whisked their loved ones away to the Newport Yacht Club for a lunch cruise, courtesy of the Newport Beach Yacht Club. Though overcast, that afternoon was filled with magic!

Kelsie wore a custom-made sheath cut gown, made of heavily beaded lace with 3D lace applique dawning the neckline and waist. The decor consisted of lots of fresh blooms and greens, blush and gold accents, pictures of the couple, and scrumptious treats.

Their wedding could be described as clean, classy, and glamorous, with lots of personal touches. It was absolutely gorgeous, magical, and oh-so-intimate. It was the perfect tribute to past, present, and future memories of love and happiness.
