Hello lovelies,

How was your weekend? Full of fun, frolics and wedding planning no doubt. In case you missed it yesterday, we were talking UGG boots at weddings ~ I'd love to hear your thoughts. (There were some strong opinions over on our Facebook page!)

Ok it's time to kick start your week and knock your socks off with a vibrant, creative, colourful and oh so chic bridal shower shoot!

This beautiful shoot was styled by wedding planner Erica of Twine Events who worked alongside a talented team of wedding creatives to transform Casa Romantica in California, into a stylish haven, awash with colour and perfect for a spot of ladylike pampering. All the details were captured perfectly on film by Lane Dittoe Photography and the shoot was originally featured in the fabulous online magazine, Utterly Engaged.

There are lots of inspiring ideas for hosting/styling a chic and unique bridal shower, bachelorette party or hen do that can be adapted to suit any budget. Forget heading to the nearest cocktail bar, why not create a self serve Flower Bar or Beauty Bar to enjoy with your closest friends instead?!

Now that's my kind of bridal shower ~ so colourful, stylish and fun!

I love the thought of each of the ladies taking home a bouquet they made themselves.

Erica of Twine Events shares all the juicy bridal shower details:

I'm all about making an event fun for the guests yet reflective of the individuals or couple hosting the event. We came up with the idea of “Bridesmaids, Blooms, and Beauty” bridal shower. The idea to gather your bridal party, create memories, and have fun! Every little piece was colorful, meticulous, and a conversation starter.

For the Flower Bar, we gathered the bride's favorite blooms and had the girls create their own bouquets, arrangements and headpieces. We also tied in the meanings of the blooms for a sweet touch. We also had each of the bridesmaids write a little “love gem” for the bride. They are tips before the big day and to a happy marriage!

As for the beauty bar, we created little favor bags the bridesmaids could use: Cucumber Eye Compress, Brown Sugar Foot Scrub, Coffee Facial, and Milk and Honey Hair Mask. Last, but not least, we set up a table scape over looking the ocean at Casa Romantica. Their spanish architecture and ocean breeze added the perfect touch to the theme. Simple yet beautiful.

Thanks so much to Erica of Twine Events for sharing these inspiring ideas. Check out her website for even more loveliness.

Be sure to check out issue 20 of Utterly Engaged, where this shoot was first featured and where you can download the recipes from the beauty bar too!
