Well are you guys in for a treat today?

Anna & Emil are a Moscow couple who, after a particularly special Italian engagement (which you can read all about over on How He Asked), chose to return to their favourite country to get married.

Their destination wedding was endlessly pretty, paying homage to the Tuscan countryside throughout with a villagey feel, olive branch decor, Prosecco and olive oil favors, and plenty of rustic touches. And who better to capture it than the wonderful Chris of Facibeni Fotografia?

The couple who welcomed friends and family from across the globe, kept it stylish, Anna in the most romantic fluttering gown, and Emil in a cool suit with a contrast waistcoat and bare ankles (love that look on grooms!).

From a tree filled with Polaroids, to chairs adorned with florals, I just know this is one of those weddings that will give you all kinds of ideas for your own big day.

Our Wedding

Italy is our love!

After Emil proposed in Cinque Terre we had no doubts we would celebrate our wedding in Italy. As we’re both amazed by Tuscany, we took a decision to have it there in a rustic Tuscanian style.

We wanted to have everything as natural as possible: olive tree leaves, wooden elements, craft and green materials, pastel colors. We’ve managed to find lots of ideas online.

We were actually surprised that all of our friends from different countries (Russia, Italy, USA, Israel, Ireland, etc.) made it to the wedding – it took us some organizational skills to get everyone in one place.

We wanted everything as we like it in Italy – cosy, village-style, super-friendly and funny. Our hosts were our two best friends, our exterior design guru was Anna’s mom, the stylist was a great friend of ours – a whole bunch of truly talented friends we have.

We took the greatest pleasure (and a tiny bit of nerves, of course) to organize everything by ourselves – but it was totally worth it!

Favourite Moments

Anna: My favourite moment was right after I left my room for the ceremony – when I saw everyone – my future husband and the guests – waiting for me, that was the moment I felt the happiest in the world, because we did it!

Actually one more great moment was the surprise dance by the boys – it was not part of a program and it was so unexpected and lovely.

Emil: I can’t say any particular moment was my favorite – the whole process of preparation, travels, shopping and the wedding itself went so smoothly – it became the one major favorite moment to me.

The Photography

We did a thorough research of Tuscany photographers and Cristiano was standing out among the others – we had no doubts we would pick him.

He has the great feeling of the shot: the light, the colors, the frame – we were impressed and reached out.

We fell in love with one of the videos of Screenshot Production – the genuine feelings we saw on the newlyweds’ faces determined our choice of videographers.

Advice for Other Couples

Don’t be afraid of anything to accomplish your dreams – whatever budget you may have you will have the wedding of your dream if you want it.

Plan everything beforehand and do not do anything yourself on the day of the wedding – delegate the wedding day to someone, this way you will feel relaxed throughout the wedding day.

And enjoy it – this is such an amazing and unique event that you have to enjoy every moment of it!

The Honeymoon

We have not yet had a “proper” honeymoon, we went for a Tuscany trip with the friends from the wedding and had a short stay on Sardinia – just the two of us.

This way we have a chance to continue enjoying the wedding on a separate honeymoon trip
