‘A country haven away from London’s bustle’ Hedsor House is a dream wedding venue for any royal-minded bride. Boasting one hundred acres of immaculate grounds, with numerous upscale spaces for you to hold your ceremony, cocktail and reception, the venue beams with lavish luxury.

Yet bride Sonya has bared no trouble upstaging the opulent estate. Dressed in sparkling & demure Jenny Packham, gold Jimmy Choo heels & a classic winged eyeliner look, Sonya exudes timeless bridal beauty. It’s no surprise that she and Mohammed’s guest list seems to be equally chic, dressed in formal, high-fashion attire.

Our Love Story

We met when I was sixteen and visiting my friend in London for the summer. I was living in Japan at the time, and it was supposed to be a summer fling, but we stayed in touch and when I moved to London for university we became ‘official’.

Favorite Moments

Although the day went way too quickly, getting ready in the morning with my mum and friends particularly stands out. At the end of the night, my husband, maid of honour and I just laid on the grass talking about the day, which is also a great memory.

The Venue & Style

We wanted to have an English countryside wedding since most of my family and friends would be travelling from overseas and visiting England for the first time. I wanted to be able to enjoy the day without stressing over logistics and transport, so Hedsor House was ideal as the venue managers took care of everything and close friends and family could stay the night at the venue.

I wanted to have a clean, simple colour palette, so my flowers, stationery and wedding dress were all fairly classic.

The Photography

Neither of us like having our photo taken, but when I saw Julie’s website I knew she would be great as the couples she shot looked so relaxed. And her style (romantic and classic) matched the venue and theme really well.

The Reception

Food was very important for us, and I wanted to have a mix of food that represented the UK, my family background (half-Japanese, half-Czech) and my husband’s (Bangladesh). Same with the music – we had a good mix of 90-00s hip hop as well as bhangra.

Advice to Other Couples

Definitely do a trial run for any makeup and hair. Also, just be aware that you most definitely will go over budget (definitely in our case), so having some buffer would be good.
