Chances are, unless you’re some kind of vintage style aficionado or collector of fancy ballgowns, you’re not versed in how to look after a piece of clothing as important, expensive, or specialist as a wedding dress.
I know I, like many brides, balked at the cost of dry cleaning my dress after my wedding. But when I think of how much work it must have been to get the wine, grass stains, and dancefloor grubbiness out of my crochet train, well it was worth the cash.
I’m not sure if I’ll sell my dress eventually, donate it, try to to force my daughter to wear it, or just keep it for posterity (and fancy dress parties!), but for the moment, it’s important to me that’s it’s somewhere safe, and in the best condition possible.
